We would like to thank you guys so much for the fantastic day out to Montserrat. This tour was the highlight of our visit to Barcelona. To begin the day with breakfast next to the Mediterranean sea was unique already, and I had a feeling that this day was going to be a treat, and boy, was that a understatement. The caves was magical, we understand Gaudi´s unique architectural style so much better now. JJ and Andreas are such nice guys, so much passion and knowledge. We truly enjoyed their company the whole day. The Picnic up in the mountain with the beautiful views was so nice. Once we were back at the beach with a cold sangria in hand, the day felt like a dream. Fantastic day trip, I will recommend this tour to anybody going to Barcelona. Thank you so much.

Situated just 38km from Barcelona lies the unusual and graceful massif of Montserrat, that rises to a 1,236 metres above sea level. The surprising and eye - catching shapes of the mountain came into being through the forces of geological change in the distant past. Nestled away up in Montserrat lies a Benedictine monastery that houses the black Virgin Mary "Our lady of Montserrat" which has attracted Pilgrims for century's. Montserrat literally means "jagged (serrated) mountain" as the famous Catalan poet Jacint Verdaguer wrote "With a saw of gold, the angels hewed twisting hills to make a palace for you" is what many people feel when contemplating the mountain of Montserrat.
So, let us add our "Magic" and take you on a full day adventure to this magical Mountain of Catalonia. That will leave foot prints in your memory of Barcelona, for ever!
We meet at 9:30 am at our beach bar, located 50m from the Mediterranean, for a cup of coffee and a quick bite.
From here we drive to the amazing caves of Montserrat. These are the very caves where Antoni Gaudi was inspired. You will also learn how this fascinating mountain came about.
After the caves we have a scenic drive up to the Benedictine monastery which is home to the La Moreneta (the black virgin Mary). Here we will give you an orientation tour of the monastery. You will now be given some free time to explore and admire. There are various options where you can get something to eat as well.
Once we meet up again we drive you back to Barcelona to the Sagrada Familia. We will do a short tour around it so that you can see the connection between the caves and Gaudi´s architectural style.
We finally take a short drive back to our beach bar for a refreshing glass of sangria to finish off this wonderful day.
We meet at our beach bar Ona Beach Bar. it is located on Barcelonata beach, Barcelona's main beach. It is the one on the left of the brown structure on the beach that looks like three giant cubes stacked on top of each other (cant miss it). Right opposite the surf shop. it has yellow and green table clothes.
